Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 0 years of relevant experience.

 


CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance with a Polygraph is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Business Function Specialist. This position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

 

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • Provides administrative assistance in a staff capacity to management by coordinating such activities as personnel placement, budget preparation and control, workflow procedures, compensation matters, and training programs
  • Represents organizational unit on administrative matters
  • Recommends, interprets, and/or implements company and internal administrative policies and procedures
  • Performs as a generalist a combination of administrative tasks in such functional areas as finance, human resources, purchasing, research and development
  • May prepare budgeting, project scheduling, and statistical reports as required
  • Performs detailed administrative, office management, financial and analytical activities for a function, department, program, or organization
  • Prepares, processes, monitors and updates required reports and documents including budgets, schedules, purchase requests and forms
  • Prepares, develops and updates charts and graphics for presentation
  • Coordinates small projects to support the organization
  • Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity
  • Contributes to the completion of organizational projects and goals
  • Represents organization on specific projects
  • May serve as liaison for administrative tasks with other functions such as Facilities, Security, IT and HR
  • May be subject-matter expert on the use of one or more business-related tools such as company's time-reporting, training or expense reporting system 
  • This is the intermediate level in a field of specialization

Additional responsibilities on program for the Business Function Specialist:

 

  • SharePoint Administration and Management
  • Maintain all of the property on the program and be the purchasing agent for the program
  • Maintain list of all hardware and software COTs and GOTs license and maintenance costs and expirations
  • Delivery of all CDRLs (Contract Requirements)
  • Support Business Development when needed
  • Learning the Concur Expense Reporting System and completing expense reports for the team as needed (reconcile all expenses)
  • Attend all customer meetings (on-site/off-site) and documenting actions through formal meeting minutes
  • Attend GD related meetings attended by Program Manager (staffing meeting, round table, Customer Status Review, etc.) documenting formal meeting minutes
  • Prepare purchasing requests for all material needs
  • Handle all Data Transfers (Classified/Unclassified)
  • Manage Program/PM calendars
  • Coordinate Travel
  • Coordinate staff meetings, reviews, team meetings, deliverable due dates etc.
  • Review Program Reviews/PMR's, etc. (ensure stakeholder information is obtained, proofread and action items updated)
  • Track action items from all meetings and determine best method to capture these items
  • Work with PM on generating the Weekly Business Area Director Reports – help determine what is noteworthy and distribute the report
  • Create files from Strategy Sessions
  • Identify new needs from discussions/meeting, work to develop solutions
  • Keep up to speed with policies to facilitate a compliant environment
