Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree. Agile experience preferred.

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is seeking cleared/clearable, bright, hardworking System Engineers to join the Tactical Control System (TCS) team at our headquarters in Fair Lakes (Fairfax) Virginia. The Tactical Control System (TCS) is a critical submarine system which integrates sensor inputs from Sonar, Radar, Periscope, Navigation, Communication, Electronic Support Measures, etc. TCS collects this data in order to provide a common operational picture and situational awareness display within a cyber secure environment. The TCS system is delivered to the US Navy and Royal Australian Navy submarines. It is installed in the Control Room and throughout the Submarine to assist the Commander, Officers, and Sailors on critical decision making. Responsibilities include deriving system and subsystem level requirements and working with a team to develop the corresponding design. Strength in documentation and management skills are a must. This position will support Customer meetings and tasking. This includes leading weekly working groups with corresponding subsystems in order to brief the Customer on new capabilities and design during milestone reviews. Additional responsibilities include organization and management of the project’s Capability Items (CI), oversight and development of test procedures, and collaboration with the Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical Systems (SWFTS) community.
