Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, a related specialized area or field, or equivalent experience is required.

 

Candidates must be able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense SECRET security clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

 

Responsibilities for this Position

Do you want to be part of an engineering team supporting the next generation NASA Space Network Ground Segment Sustainment program (SGSS)?  Do you want to be challenged day-in and day-out while using and growing the skills you learned while earing your Electrical Engineer or Computer Science degree?  If so, General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is currently seeking an Entry-Level Engineer to join us in our Scottsdale, AZ location.

 

 

The Entry-Level Engineer is responsible for participating in test procedure development, integration of subsystem and system level functionality, procedure execution, interaction with the NASA customer, and troubleshooting on a modernized NASA ground terminal for deployment to NASA ground terminal locations under direct supervision.

 

 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Create integration and verification procedures for subsystem and system level integration and test (I&T)
  • Utilize engineers skills to investigate integration problems, report software and system level defects, and work with other engineering departments on root cause and corrective action
  • Write basic scripts to support integration activities
  • Work with a team of engineers supporting the integration and test of certain aspects of NASA ground terminals
  • Support customer witness level testing and verification
  • Support the customer review and update of I&T artifacts

 

The critical skills used will include academic, engineering problem solving and resolution, team communication and coordination, technical documentation, and customer interaction.
