General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an opportunity for an Entry-Level Electrical Engineer to join our team in Las Cruces, NM.

GDMS is actively recruiting for an Entry-Level Electrical Engineer for the Space Network Ground Segment Sustainment (SGSS) Project where you will work with Communications Systems. The SGSS Project is entering the initial development phase and an Entry-Level Electrical Engineer is needed to support the NASA Sites System Integration and Test activities. Working at GDMS is much more than a job. It’s a place where you can learn the latest satellite ground terminal technologies and be an active member of the engineering team that will actually deploy these subsystems to multiple NASA operational sites.

 

Opportunities you’ll have to use and grow your skills:

  • Supports the SGSS Deployment and Transition Team in documenting, presenting, and leading the integration and system testing of all hardware, software, firmware, and infrastructure associated with the SGSS design
  • Supports the deployment, integration, and test of network-based satellite ground terminals
  • Supports the execution of functional, environmental, operational, and/or performance tests on hardware, software, and systems
  • Assists with the design, development and implementation of effective methods of troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software and systems technical issues
  • Supports the isolation and documentation of issues and defects
  • Supports the generation of technical engineering products (test plans, test procedures, test reports, test reviews) by applying the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle
  • Provides test reports and explains test outcome to team and customers

 

Knowledge and skills you acquired while earning your degree:

  • Proficiency  in the use and understanding of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theories
  • An understanding of Communication Systems concepts including protocols, data encoding/decoding, encryption/decryption, data transmission, and security techniques
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products with emphasize in Excel, Word, Visio, and Power Point
