Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a computer science, information technology, engineering, or scientific field or the equivalent experience.

 

Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Work locations include Fairfax VA, Scottsdale AZ, Pittsfield MA, Taunton MA, and Bloomington MN.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS), a market leader and technology innovator, is seeking talented professionals to deliver cutting edge solutions to our customers. General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Information Technology Associate to join one of our IT teams listed below. The position provides an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions, while simultaneously supporting core business needs. The selected candidate will work within one of the follow IT teams:

  • IT Applications: Delivers world class applications and solutions (e.g. mobility, cloud, data architecture, etc) across our business partners, including Engineering, Human Resources, Finance, Manufacturing and Cyber Security.
  • IT Infrastructure: Manages and maintains cutting edge enterprise hardware and software components that provide key foundational services to our internal customers.
  • IT Cyber Security: Collaborates with members of IT and the business to continuously improve the security posture of the organization. Engages in various projects that assess risk and make decisions on appropriate risk management strategies.
  • IT Governance: Provides governance and compliance-related guidance to support the successful implementation and enforcement of IT solutions to related business problems. Leads a variety of organizational efforts on behalf of the CISO.
  • IT Project Management: Provides project support across critical IT initiatives, including development of project plans, authorization of work, and managing costs, schedule and technical performance.

 

Associates will have the opportunity to build strong relationships with professionals from across the company and a variety of disciplines to enhance their business acumen, grow their network and create innovative solutions to difficult business challenges. IT associates also will have the choice to work directly alongside other members of the IT, including the Applications, Cyber Security, Architecture, Governance, Infrastructure, and Project Management teams.

Key Responsibilities: The Information Technology Associate will assist with various initiatives and provide technical and project support to General Dynamics Mission Systems and our clients. Additional Responsibilities: Additional responsibilities across IT teams includes, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Exercise creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performance
  • Support the delivery of innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needs
  • Follow established Information Technology policies and procedures during the delivery of services
  • Identify potential areas of continuous improvement
  • Be part of collaborative teams attending meetings as required

 

Qualifications:

Candidates must demonstrate passion for innovation, a basic understanding of Information Technology, and the ability to further advance General Dynamics Mission Systems. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related specialized area or the equivalent and zero to two years of related experience. Candidates will need to:

  • Be able to self-educate
  • Be motivated to learn independently
  • Work well in virtual team environments
  • Possess demonstrated presentation skills
  • Be effective in verbal and written communications
  • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide range of individuals including technical and non-technical staff
